The Candlewood Lake Authority is proud to present the 7th Annual Candlewood Lake Dragon Boat Race at Lynn Deming Park! This mustdo event attracts amateur dragon boat racers from around the area.

General Information
  • Eighteen teams raced 46-foot long dragon boats down the 200-meter course against one another in a series of fast-paced heats in last year’s event.
  • Teams were made up of people from Candlewood Lake communities or area businesses while some were a bunch of friends looking to try their hand at dragon boat racing.
  • The racing is great, but it doesn’t end there…some teams come in costume and others decorate their team canopy tents to show off their team spirit and identity.
  • Last year, participants enjoyed great food, music, martial arts demonstrations, free paddleboard demos, face painting and of course plenty of team camaraderie and laughter as they cheered each other on.
  • All equipment is provided and no experience is necessary to participate in this fun-filled event.
